Ever wondered how to capture your darkest thoughts as a Christian?

The fears we refuse to face become the limit of our growth. If we are to afraid to ask the hard questions we will never know where we might have ended up. The longer you wait the longer you are holding up your destiny.

This journey as a Christian millennial single mom and way of faith has many trials and tribulations. Through it, am encouraged by the word of God in John 16:33 "These things have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace, in the world ye shall have tribulations, but be ye of good cheer, I have overcome the world”

Not only hasn't he instructed us on what to do but that in Him we will find peace. Am a testimony to this. I have been through many trials and tribulations. Be it rejection, be it emotional abuse, but in all, he overcame them for me and claimed the victory and said it was mine.

So on today's topic. I recently closed a door, and to be honest so many times have I wanted to reopen it.

However this hasn't been easy, you know that feeling that you aren't really forgiven and that you should atone for your sins? But with each rising sun, the holy spirit has been my guide and counsel. Manifesting itself through the word that is sent to me every day, round the clock by one Cecilia who covers me in prayers too. I tend to think she is my destiny helper. The readings always tend to respond to how I feel on the day. It comes with so much peace.

The other thing that tends to pop up is thoughts! These have been terrorizing me of late. But what I learned today was so profound. Romans 12:21: “We can take captive every thought, to make it obedient to Christ” How timely was that scripture, and how encouraging is that. To know that we have the power and scripture supports that. Anytime that such thoughts creep in. Thoughts of being unforgiven, of missing who used to be, we have the power to capture them and make them obedient to Christ.

The things about thoughts and feelings are, God made them. God created us with the capacity to feel and think. The main reason he did it was that we glorify him with our feelings and thoughts. But the thing about sin is, sin destroys that, Even when we go back to Genesis 3 you see Eve is looking at the tree that God said they shouldn't eat from. That was his word. A word that was to be believed. If Eve believed, she will continue living freely.

When Eve started to listen to satan, and be tempted, she said that she thought the tree was desired to make one wise. The thing that is interesting is that she uses the word of affection to describe how she sees this tree now, and I think the desire was real, I think it was a real feeling that governed how she saw the word of God.

The reason why I took you back to Genesis is that we tend to justify these feelings, these thoughts with the word of God, and Honey, have been there. Justifying my sin over and over again for the past 4 years. Fasting over it. Saying Novenas over it.

What I came to learn from all this is, I can't trust my feelings and thoughts. My feelings and thoughts really ultimately have no authority. The word of God is the ultimate authority in everything. So if I put my feelings and thoughts above scripture, I will be led to death every single time. I choose God because I love God and not to say there isn't the still, present, annoying piece of my flesh to want what I used to love. Which is sin, which is the chain for 4 years, which is pride. But what the holy spirit does when he comes inside of someone is, he completely makes them new. I am able to look at this tree in form of feelings and thoughts and see that the tree isn't good.

On your thoughts I would love to quote Galatians 1:6, I know today am quoting lots of scripture, but it's to make you understand that all things, including your body, your thoughts, and your identity, all things were made through him and in him for him. So the question comes in, are you living for the reason you are made? With your thoughts? your feelings? Which is to know God and glorify him? I think what needs to happen is that we recognize that what God is calling us even with these thoughts and feelings is to be holy.

God is calling us to himself, and doing so even if those thoughts and feelings still exist, he will give you the power to flee every single time, because he is that strong.

Love and Light.
